Marmot's hilarious reaction to his friend getting his nails trimmed is going viral

Sometimes, the fear of knowing something is coming is worse than the actual thing. Like jumping into a pool of freezing cold water, or in this case, getting your nails trimmed.

Anxiety is a funny thing. As someone who has suffered with it for quite a long time, we've learned to live with it as best as we can. We have our breathing and grounding techniques, and they help to an extent, but most of it is just recognizing when the anxiety is taking over and accepting it for what it is, then allowing it to pass. There isn't some magic sequence that makes it all go away, you just have to take the plunge and swim through it.

That's the thing about anxiety - it's always there before something happens. But, once you're actually doing it, it's not nearly as bad as your anxiety was trying to tell you it would be. Take skydiving, for example. If your legs aren't shaking before you jump out of a plane, no matter how many times you practiced releasing the parachute, you're some kind of crazy person. But, once you are free-falling, seeing the world from so high up, it's kind of peaceful. But before we jumped out, we never would have believed that that would be our experience.

Now, today's example is nothing near as terrifying as skydiving, but each creature has its own things to be afraid of. On X, a video is going viral of a marmot (the same family as groundhogs) watching his friend getting his nails trimmed, and his reactions are the cutest and most hilarious things we've seen all day. Every time the clipper cuts through a nail, he makes a shocked face that we can only equate to the face our grandmother made after our niece showed off her Coachella outfit. That was also quite shocking.

Anyway, if you're someone who also suffers from anxiety, take pride in knowing that you're not alone, and even a marmot can catastrophize a situation that requires no catastrophization, just like you.
